So what is this site trying to say? Explore might be a better word.
At first the followers of Jesus were known as “followers of the Way”. This site is for reflections on what it means to be a follower of the Way of Jesus in our contemporary world. Some are written from the perspective of my journey, as a church leader and shepherd who has too often found church politics and religious expectations dictating their ‘way’, and sometimes denying what Jesus taught and modelled. Others draw on authors such as veteran pastor and Bible translator Eugene Petersen who has reflected on this over a career of five decades. Some guest posts, too, I hope.
We need to do it differently. We need to find a way out of the muddled values and mixed messages that is keeping the church marginalised. If the Christian Church is to be relevant to millennials and to the not-yet Christians who are looking for a spiritual lead that has the feeling of authenticity about it, we have to discover: What did Jesus mean when He said, “Follow Me”?
However inadequate, this site is an attempt to explore answers to that question.
