What does it mean to follow the Way of Jesus?

His model was radical, sacrificial love and He emphasised loving one another as the mark of true disciples. He observed the requirements of religious law but made it clear He was about relationship – with His Father, first and foremost, then with others without condition, even Gentiles. He performed miracles but said He could only do what He saw His Father doing. He calls us, not to church politics or doctrinal niceties, but to follow Him as the One who is the Way, the Life and the Truth. Who loves me, loves you and expects us to love one another and others. He sent us the Holy Spirit to empower us for this impossibility, which He does, if we can unlearn all the other stuff...

About me – Revd Ian Greig

I am a non-denominational ordained Pioneer Minister working with the Church of England, mainly as a Community Pastor available to all in the Weobley and Staunton benefice of Hereford Diocese. I was formerly a Baptist minister and have led a number of churches in different areas. I have been married to Alison for 37 years and we have three grown up children, a paedatrician, a fashion designer and a strategic consultant. I also publish the TLW Bible Study, online at http://thelivingword.uk I am involved in neighbourhood Bible studes, training and I take funerals for anyone who wants a Christian faith-based service but with a relational rather than religious feel.
